The four socketed-gem positions are your necklace, wrists and two rings. Other equipment can contribute gem power through item modifiers; that is separate from inserting a gem into a socket.
Method / Leknok ↗Sockets and item power are different
If a helm contributes Ruby power, that does not make it a fifth socket. In the planner, choose a socket position to insert a gem, and use the controls beside an equipment slot to represent power already on that item.
A quick equipment check
Count the four inserted gems first. Then add the item bonuses by color and check whether a gem-power multiplier is equipped. This order makes it easier to find a missing contribution than comparing the grand total alone.
