An instinct worth practicing
Practice interrupts in WoW, without waiting for your next key.
The Drake’s Proving Grounds: Interrupt Gauntlet is a free browser interrupt trainer for World of Warcraft players. Practice spotting a cast, selecting the right nameplate and landing your kick before the bar finishes.
The first fictional enemy starts casting immediately in the middle. Your first successful kick brings in another enemy. Up to ten enemies join the pull, casts get faster, and random pauses keep you reading the plates instead of memorizing a rhythm. Their bodies group together while their nameplates stack without overlapping and subtly shimmy to simulate a tank microkiting. Enemies can cast simultaneously. Some run in from the corners; interrupt a waiting corner caster and it joins the central pack. Others rise from the ground already grouped. Idle enemies can disappear and be replaced by new arrivals. Each attempt uses new random spawns and cast timing. Keep switching targets to stop each spell before it finishes. A kick on an idle target or an unanswered cast costs a strike; three strikes end the run. After an idle-target mistake, extra idle kicks are ignored for one second. You can still interrupt real casts during that window.
A WoW reaction test, inspired by Human Benchmark
Inspired by Human Benchmark, this exercise combines reaction speed with target selection and restraint. Faster successful interrupts earn more points. Your score, average response time and best streak help you compare your own runs.
How does this help with Mythic+ interrupts?
It gives you repeated practice reading cast bars and clicking changing nameplates. The enemies and spells are invented, and your kick has no cooldown here. Use it to practice the input and attention skills; learn dungeon mechanics and your class’s interrupt rules in the game.
Do I need to choose a class or set up keybinds?
No. Press Start, click a nameplate and use any gameplay key to kick. Side mouse buttons and the middle mouse button also kick; left click selects targets and right click does not kick. Holding a key does not repeat kicks. Browser shortcuts stay available; use the Pause button to take a break. Touch players can use Kick target.
Where are my scores saved?
Save anonymously or enter a short name. The shared leaderboard shows the top 25 runs, and Recents shows the latest 10 published attempts at any score. Both refresh as players publish results. Your chosen name is remembered in this browser for your next attempt. Scores are checked against your run’s inputs before they are accepted. If the leaderboard is unavailable, you can still play a practice run.
