Wowhead also lists tier-8+ Trovehunter’s Bounty and Nightmare Prey hunts as Hero Mistcrest sources. For Myth Mistcrests, the Mythic+ bracket starts at +9. Match the currency to the item’s upgrade track rather than following an old Dawncrest guide.

For a repeatable dungeon farm, compare crests earned per total minute—including forming the group, travel, and failed runs. A key your group finishes consistently can beat a harder key with frequent wipes. This is a planning approach, not a claim that one key level is always fastest.
Important distinction
Check your Currency tab and current cap before farming. Caps increase with resets; reaching a crest cap can cause content to award a lower tier instead. Gear research and the item-level calculator help plan upgrades, but a higher average item level alone does not prove an item is best for your build.
