As of October 5, Ascendant Venomstones are upcoming, not live. Blizzard schedules the research quest for the week of October 13 and the unlock quest for the week of October 20, 2026.
Blizzard ↗This answer is due for another source review. Check the dated sources before relying on time-sensitive details.
Confirmed details
After unlocking the system, 10 stones upgrade a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Myth, or maximum-quality Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket or necklace. This is not a blanket upgrade for every armor slot.
Blizzard ↗How to use this
Blizzard lists Heroic/Mythic raid bosses, +10 or higher Mythic+, tier-11 Bountiful Delves and Nightmare Prey Champion gear chests as sources after the unlock. Plan eligible pieces with our gear tools, then verify the live quest.
Important distinction
The dated launch announcement is more precise than the older PTR overview. The patch arriving October 13 does not mean stone upgrades unlock that same day. We do not invent final item levels or bypass the research wait.
