In Retail WoW, commodities such as herbs and consumables are region-wide. Equipment—including BoE armor and weapons—uses connected-realm auctions, not one region-wide gear market.

Confirmed details
Blizzard’s API separates connected-realm equipment listings from regional commodities. A region selector on a comparison site can aggregate realms; it does not mean you can buy every listing on your home realm.
Blizzard ↗ · Blizzard ↗How to use this
In MythicDrake Market, compare the exact item variant, item level, realm and snapshot time. Check our item and spec gear pages for context before deciding whether a listing suits your character.
Important distinction
A buyout is an asking price, not proof of a completed sale. Cached listings may have sold or expired. This answer concerns Retail; do not assume identical rules for every Classic or Forever edition.
